HEALING PELVIC DYSFUNCTION & PAIN
SO YOU CAN LIVE YOUR LIFE
WITHOUT BOUNDARIES!
I strongly believe that you should live life to its fullest! That means living and enjoying life without the daily burden of pelvic dysfunction and pain!
At Tidal Physical Therapy, I aim to provide individualized, whole body care that targets the "why" of my patients' pelvic complaints to help them find longer relief and gain the confidence they need can manage their health independently.
I also believe scheduling your health appointments shouldn't be a hurdle!
I offer one-on-one treatment sessions in the comfort of my office located in Los Alamitos, CA.
Hi, I’m Elizabeth!
I grew up in the quaint beach town of Seal Beach, CA, went to school in San Francisco then Los Angeles, and now call Long Beach my home.
I found my career in physical therapy after watching my brother’s friend go through extensive PT after losing his legs from an explosion while serving overseas. After attending one of his PT appointments, it was like a lightbulb went off! PT offers everything that resonates with me: science/health information, creative practice, wholesome treatment, and patient connection!
After completing my schooling and post-doctoral training in orthopedics, I achieved my goal of becoming a pelvic health PT. I’m passionate about the relationships I cultivate with my patients and aim to offer the best care so they can live their lives free of pain and dysfunction (in body regions that are still considered “taboo” to talk about)!
When I’m not practicing, you can find me exploring local restaurants with my boyfriend, running along the marina, buying plants, dabbling in watercolor painting and pointing out all the hummingbirds on walks.
I specialize in Pelvic Health and Orthopedic Physical Therapy which allows me to utilize my in-depth knowledge of how the human body moves and functions, and apply that knowledge to women experiencing pelvic pain and dysfunction.

I love to talk with all my patients prior to their evaluation! I want to make sure they're in the right place and they have a good expectation of how I can try to help! I make it a point to explain pelvic health physical therapy and how the approach may be different from other genres of PT.
If I'm a good match, an initial evaluation is scheduled and appointment documents are sent via email.
Appointments are held in my office space located at:
4782 Katella Ave
Los Alamitos, CA 90720
Being my patient means you may contact me whenever you have questions or need clarification along the way!
Step one: I have set up my office to make it as comfortable as possible. You'll enter a peaceful waiting room prior to the appointment. Then we move into a private room equipped with cozy swivel chairs to chat and everything else I'll need to educate and treat!
Step two: I listen to you! Many patients I see feel like they don't get the time or space to openly discuss what's going on. This leaves them feeling disconnected from their doctors and underserved as a patient. I don't want that! As a medical practitioner, I WANT to hear about your experiences related to your pains & dysfunctions!
Step three: We put pen and paper aside and move into a physical assessment. I check out your posture, flexibility, strength, range of motion and coordination of movements that may be playing a role in your complaints! I strive to explain and education about my findings along the way so you can follow along. I don't want any uncertainty as we go through the physical assessment. For most patients (with their full consent) I assess the muscle flexibility, strength, and tissue quality of the pelvic floor muscles and structures surrounding. This can be assessed externally (from the outside) or internally (within the vaginal or rectal openings). This step is recommended but never required.
Step four: Keep the education rolling! I educate my patients on their symptoms, causes of their symptoms, and link it to the impairments that I found during the assessment portion. I may use visual pictures, 3-D models and graphics to help explain what's going on.
Step five: We build a plan of care together based on what I've assessed and what I know to help. We'll build a plan incorporating your work/life schedules, as I understand life gets busy and exercises/self-care takes a backseat. Some tools I may include: strength and coordination exercises, stretches, pain management strategies, toileting techniques, and more!
Step six: Answer all questions and set up future appointments!
Tidal Physical Therapy is an out-of-network provider. As such, I provide physical therapy on a “fee at time of service” basis. By not contracting with insurance companies, I don't have to limit the time or treatment options provided because of insurance company restrictions.
Therefore, patient care is never compromised.
After each visit, you'll have access to an invoice - a financial bill of the treatment. You may submit these invoices through your insurance company to be reimbursed. The amount of reimbursement you'll receive will vary according to the terms of your insurance policy. Please call your insurance company prior to your first visit if you'd like to understand your out-of-network reimbursement policy.
At this time, Tidal Physical Therapy DOES NOT accept Medicare or Medi-Cal patients.
As an out-of-network practitioner, I work for YOU, not the insurance company! I never want my treatments to be dictated by insurance company pay rates.
